Remembering Phil Stern

Remembering Phil Stern

Pushing yet another rare photo into the spotlight, the BHFF reflects on the incomparable moment captured here during another successful year at the Beverly Hill Film Festival. Producer/director Brett Ratner is asked to present the Living Legends award to the acclaimed photographer, Phil Stern, who is known for capturing unique images of Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, James Dean, Marlon Brando, and other iconic figures.

The founder/President of the Beverly Hills Film Festival, Nino Simone, created the very first and last opportunity for Phil Stern to celebrate him in the spotlights. The legendary photographer passed away on December 13th, 2014, and the BHFF was honored to be able to pull the man behind the camera to the foreground of appreciation for the first time.

Gathered around Phil Stern are renowned figures, Producer/Director/Writer, Hector Cruz Sandoval (from the left), Los Angeles City Council member, Tom LaBonge (center), the founder/president of the BHFF, Nino Simone (far right), and filmmaker/Producer/Director, Brett Ratner (right).
