BEVERLY HILLS, CA (May 13, 2013) – Last night, at the 13th Annual International Beverly Hills Film Festival (BHFF) (www.beverlyhillsfilmfestival.com) closing Gala Awards Ceremony, “Wampler’s Ascent,” a feature-length documentary directed by Elizabeth Wampler, received the Golden Palm Award. 2013 PARAJANOV-VARTANOV INSTITUTE AWARD
2013 Parajanov-Vartanov Institute Award will honor one of the greatest writer’s of the 20th century William Saroyan (1908-1981), who won the 1939 Pulitzer Prize for the Time of Your Life and the 1943 Oscar for the Human Comedy. The institute’s award—named after the late persecuted filmmakers Sergei Parajanov (1924-1990) and Mikhail Vartanov (1937-2009), who were admired by some of the most important figures in cinema—will be presented to the Saroyan family at the Beverly Hills Film Festival's awards gala at Four Seasons Hotel LA on Sunday, May 12. read more...
